Valentine's Day Poem

A Mailbox Valentine

When you look in your mailbox
What do you think you'll see
It might be a valentine
And it might be from me.

Five Great Valentines

Five great valentines from the valentine store.
I sent one to Mother, now there are four.
Four great valentines, pretty ones to see.
I gave one to brother and now there are three.
Three great valentines, yellow, red and blue,
I gave one to sister and now there are two.
Two great valentines, my we have fun.
I gave one to Daddy, and now there is one.
One great valentine, the story is almost done.
I gave it to baby, now there are none!

Roses are Red

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,

and so are you.

Five Little Hearts

Five little hearts all in a row
The first one said, "I love you so."
The second one said, "Will you be my valentine?"
The third one said, "I will, if you'll be mine."
The fourth one said, "I'll always be your friend."
The fifth one said, "We'll be friends until the end."

Five Pretty Valentines

Five pretty valentines sitting in the store,
[Child's name] bought one, and then there were four.

Four pretty valentines left on the shelf,
[Child's name] bought one, and then there were three.

Three pretty valentines waiting for a home,
[Child's name] bought one, and then there were two.

Two pretty valentines standing side by side,
[Child's name] bought one, and then there was one.

One pretty valentine left all alone
[Child's name] bought that valentine, and all were gone.

Making Valentines

In February, what shall I do?
I'll make some valentines for you.
The first will have a cupid's face;
The second will be trimmed with lace.
The third will have some roses pink;
The fourth will have a verse in ink.
The fifth will have a ribbon bow;
The sixth will glisten like the snow.
The seventh will have some lines I drew;
The eighth, some flowers - just a few.
The ninth will have three little birds;
The tenth will have three little words:

Five Pretty Valentines

Five pretty valentines
With lace galore,
I gave one to__________, (insert pupil's name)
And then there were four.
Four pretty valentines
So lovely to see,
I gave one to __________, (insert name of another pupil)
And then there were three.
Three pretty valentines,
Just made for each of you
I gave one to ___________,
And then there were two.
Two pretty valentines
Having so much fun,
I gave one to____________,
And then there was one.
One little valentine
Waiting for a special someone,
I gave it to____________,
And then there were none.

How Many Valentines?

Valentines, valentines,
How many do you see?
Valentines, valentines:
One for Father, (hold up thumb)
One for Mother, (hold up finger)
One for Grandma (middle finger)
One for Sister, (ring finger)
One for Brother, (little finger)
And here is one for you! (make heart shape with thumbs and pointer fingers)

Oh, can't you see ?
I'm a happy little heart
That's pink and white and red.
Happy little heart !
